    Log files in windows - space in the name of the folder

    I'm adding this item
    log[C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\Reporting Services\LogFiles\ReportServerService__11_25_2010_ 00_04_41.log,"ERROR","UTF-8",50]

    and is not colecting data can it be because of the spaces in the name of the folders

    How can i do to pass the spaces????

    hmm. i asked you on irc, but you didn't respond... you have doublequoted all values except the path. why so ? did you try doublequoting that as well ?

        what exactly is happening ? try removing all other arguments except file path - does it gather values then ?

          I put the file ReportServerService__11_25_2010_ 00_04_41.log in c:\ and it collected data.

          log[c:\ReportServerService__11_25_2010_00_04_41.log,"E RROR",,100]

          but in the full path it doesn't work

            In the agent it says:

            We are in the Windows directory reading cycle.
            4172:20101129:122804.497 Cannot process read entry [c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS10.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\LogFiles\.].
            4172:20101129:122804.497 Cannot process read entry [c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS10.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\LogFiles\..].
            4172:20101129:122804.498 Adding the file [c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS10.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\LogFiles\ReportServerService__04_07_2010_ 10_37_20.log] to logfiles.
            4172:20101129:122804.498 In add_logfile() filename:'ReportServerService__04_07_2010_10_37_20 .log' mtime:'1270632575'
            4172:20101129:122804.498 add_logfile() logfiles:0000000000AF0060 logfiles_alloc:64

            I'm using this regex ReportServerService__[0-9]*_[0-9]*_[0-9]*_[0-9]*_[0-9]*_[0-9]*.log

            can it be because of the regex?

                i think i have found the problem...

                i created 2 file .log with a name on it one with the encoding utf-8 and another with UCS-2 Little Endian

                and with the log item it reads fine with utf-8 but with UCS-2 Little Endian it doesnt read

                so i think tha problen is that zabbix cant read files with that encoding

                Do you know somenthing about this issue?

                      no idea. if it's supported by the underlying platform, i'd expect it to work

                        I'm working with zabbix agent for windows and log file is written in UCS-2 Little Endian and the agent doesn't read the log file

                        but if it is in utf-8 is reads without any problem

                        So what can i do to read a file with encoding of UCS-2 Little Endian?

                          but did you try specifying encoding as suggested before ?
