item not supported but is sending data.

    Hi All,

I checked out the latest data on "Outgoing traffic on interface" and have the data showing that it is coming in. when I tried to see the graph it says no data available. Also when I tried to see the item in my items box it says not supported. I did a zabbix_get -s xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx -k net.if.out[eth1,bytes] and I can get values back but still no graph. It seems to have worked while ago as when I go back into the history I do get values but non recently.

Could anyone give me ideas. It is the same for eth0 and eth1.

    Thanks.

Could it be that the information type of the item doesn't match?
Perhaps you are using 'Numeric (unsigned)' instead of 'Numeric (float)'?
    With kind regards,

      Sorry Qix.

I checked it out. I have two identical system working together. One is the failover of the other. They have the same version of zabbix_agentd as well as OS on the system. I am also using zabbix Linux Template to monitor this. On the zabbix frontend, the Item on the one system is shows not supported the other shows active. the one does not show graphs and the other does.

        Unsupported, huh?
Maybe a blunt question, but have you checked that the interface eth1 actually exists on the machine? Are other items on the working ok? You could have a DNS problem or something.

Sorry, I don't know where else to look

          Hi Qix,

It is our loadbalancing gateway box (LVS) and it has 2 interfaces on the system. eth0 and eth1. I am using Ip addresses to monitor the system so it can't be a DNS problem. it is the production LVS that is not working.
