I upgraded from 1.8.3 to 1.8.4. Maybe I should have put the system into maintenance mode but I was unaware of that feature and it was not explained in the documentation.
Anyhow, I shutdown the zabbix server and then perfromed the update of the binary along with the frontend on the web server and restarted zabbix.
Hold and behold... tons of alerts pops up. The reason is that, in 1.8.3, if I disabled an item, all the related triggers seemed to also stop although they still showed up enabled in the front end, but the item they refered to showed up in red. I thought this was enough.
With the upgrade, this behavior has changed. Even if the item is diabled, the trigger refering it will fire.
Is this a normal behavior or did I hit a bug?
