Can the windows agent run on Windows7? I have downloaded Windows agent, and un-zipped. But there are 3 exe files. Running zabbix_agentd.exe does nothing.

you should really have a look in the documentation. The zabbix-agent is quite easy to install and is running nice on my Windows 7 64 bit system.

You're quite right I should read the manual, it is quite comprehensive.
I was kind of expecting a windows msi file that i just run, but i guess that would take the fun out of it.
I did find the instructions after coming across the same problem in WindowsXP machine. After following them the agent seems to be running on WindowsXP (haven't tried Windows7 yet).
Zabbit can still not discover the windows host though. The manual states that the only mandantory item in the agent.conf file is the server address. So I created a simple file with just this in it. Is there anything else I need to set with regards to the agent?Comment

Why building a bloated installation routine, when a cmd oneliner does pretty the same? The zabbix developeres try to keep it simple.
Hm, are you using autodiscover? The server adress in the log should be enougth, thats true. I´still prefer to turn on the logging and set it to debug mode, to get some infos. Dont forget to restart zabbing agent, after changing the config.
Maybe should just try to add your machine via the "Add host" Button.
