host not found

Hi
Finally I passed to monitor a remote host.
I made ssh to connect server to agent and it works : Because i could monitor such item and are actives as shown in the frontend interface.
But when tryning to change to Active Items--> that means the connection is one sided from the agent to the server. So, the agent could download such items to check and send after a report peridically to the server.
The agentd daemon works in the agent host but the ssh didint work when making
ssh ipadress_server -p 10050
it results:
ssh_exchange_identification: Connection closed by remote host

the same thing in the server host.

Looking now to log file for the server and the agent and had the same thing as follows:
(in Agent host)
6214:20110716:210048.368 No active checks on server: host [ubuntu] not found
and in the server host the log file shows:
2249:20110716:181931.430 Sending list of active checks to [127.0.0.1] failed: host [Zabbix server] not monitored

Now, i wonder about the hosts.allow because i added the both hostname and their ip address. In addition, no firwall is installed.
Any Idea...

Active checks are using port 10051 by default.

You cannot ssh to such port, use telnet instead (traffic on this port should not be encrypted).

Follow this link and check the following parameters in your zabbix_agentd.conf:

Server
ServerPort

Thanks for response, I tried with ssh because it dosent work with telnet and that gives as follow error:

telnet 192.168.22.144 10051

Trying 192.168.22.144...
Connected to 192.168.22.144.
Escape character is '^]'.
Connection closed by foreign host.

I dont understant even telnet service didin t appear in netstat -a.

In addituion, here is a part of /tmp/zabbix_agentd.log that shows the fail because the telnet not working.

Additionnaly, the zabbix_agentd.cong is well configured as you had said in the last post.

Hi,

I fixed finally after a little search. In fact, I had to double checked that the hostname in Zabbix frontend host properties and agent daemon configuration file match. In addition , i confused between the hostname as system by including the command hostname so I got the name of host of the system. And its wrong, surely the name of the host added in the frontend of the Zabbox Server. And be careful the name is case sensitive...
