Autoregister to group doesn't include templates in that group

Hi all,

I am sure I am missing something really simple.

I have defined a host group "Linux machines" which contains the Template_Linux template. I have created an auto-register action which adds the linux boxen to the "Linux machines" group but none of the hosts are linked to that template.

I realise I could add a "link to template" action to the auto-register action but that seems redundant.

My question is how do I define a group linked to certain templates so that all the hosts in that group are automatically linked to that template.

Any ideas? What have I missed? If this isn't possible, what is the use case for adding a template to a host group?

I was hoping for "ah, yes, you missed this concept and need to read XYZ". I was expecting "muppet! go read XYZ"

Does this silence mean that I am asking something ridiculous and completely missed the point?
