Agent polling problems. Item status

Hi to everyone!

I am having a problem with some servers that we are monitoring

We are using passive agents to monitor them. There are a lot of agent, simple and external items in the template.

The strange thing is that after a problem is solved sometimes a server doesnt go up. The status item stays in 2 and every agent item does not update.

The agent on the server is working ok. Whit zabbix_get we can collect data.

I know how the status item works. My question is if the server wont start collecting zabbix agent items again if host status goes up again ? The hosts item also is used to determine unreachable of a host ? It is related?

If I turn down the agent, wait some minutes and then start it again the central server start monitoring all data again. This method is not a solution because we have more than 500 servers...

We are plannig to eliminate the status item and use a no data () trigger. This will eliminate the problem of the not updating agent items ?

Maybe something related to the following configuration options on the server ?

UnavailableDelay : How often host is checked for availability during the unavailability period, in seconds.
UnreachableDelay : How often host is checked for availability during the unreachability period, in seconds.
