Importing Hosts/Templates from 1.8.2 to 1.8.6

I am migrating data from an old server (1.8.2) to a new one (1.8.6) and the import/export feature is now separate. The import continues to fail and I would like to know if there is a conversion process for the import files.

How does it fail?

It appears to be importing however I keep on getting the following ewrror on the template import:

Incorrect key format 'key_name[param1,param2,...]'
Cannot create Item

I have tried to remove ":", " ", and "-" with no success

All set, I had a typo in one of the keys, I had three hyphens in there. Thanks all.
