Anormal High peack on my graphs

Hi, i have set my zabbix 1.8.5 to monitor bandwidth on some cisco router and a firewall..I 'm getting got graph on most of interfaces. Sometime i recieve high value more than the expecting value of bandwith given by my provider as show on this graph..

I have 512kbps on this interface but the data received go to 6Mbps sometimes...

I don't really get what is happning....

please help me.

To me it looks like the SNMP counter is rolling over or your polling period is too short. I've seen some cisco devices not update their SNMP values for few minutes. This would generate a "0" on poll X and on the very next poll your difference calculation would be from 0 which will create a spike.

The other thing that is interesting is the spikes look like they are spaced exactly by the same amount of time..

What device is it and what is the current polling period? On a side note if you have 1Gb+ interfaces that generally are very busy, you might see the same thing, but this would most likely be the 32bit SNMP counter rolling over. To get around that you'd have to use the 64bit snmp counter.

something that i got to mention is that,when i set the items and the graphs i got correct value for 2weeks before it starts going mad..
