E-mail messages From header

I have difficulties to understand how From e-mail header is created in new Zabbix 1.8.6

First of all, after upgrade we noticed, that we are no longer receiving messages with this plain From header:

From: <[email protected]>

Instead, we are receiving messages with this From header:

From: Zabbix OK Warning <[email protected]>
From: Zabbix PROBLEM Warning <[email protected]>

And this is GREAT, everyone here like it so much!

However whenever I change message Subject, this From header switch back to plain "From: <[email protected]>". We would like to keep these nice extended From headers also with changed subject. Is it possible?

If I change Subject of action back to the original one, From header again switches to extended one. Does it make any sence? Thank you for any kind of help.

that actually sounds like a bug to me - from shouldn't change depending on the subject

i'd suggest to report this on the issue tracker

I hope and believe this is not a bug. I'm just doing something wrong.

It will help me a lot if some Zabbix expert can tell me how "From" header can be configured in Zabbix Frontend. I did not find anything related to this.

i don't recall seeing such "extended" 'from' before. it definitely is in the header, not reformated like that by your mua ?

Definitelly not. It started to appear after I upgraded to 1.8.6. Previous version did not have this.

It is very good improvement, however it changes back to plain "[email protected]" everytime I change message Subject.

Just to have some certainty on the subject: I upgraded from 1.4.4 to 1.8.5 to 1.8.6 and mail just worked like before, so maybe there's a chance the problem lies actually somewhere else than with Zabbix.
