    Can't upload images

    Dear all,

    I've got troubles since I upgrade zabbix 1.8.3 to 1.8.8 on debian squeeze.

    I can't upload anymore any backgrounds images.

    When I want to update a file or create a new image, it gaves me a green messages with "images updated" ... but the image name appear with no image.

    The mysql blob in table images remains empty...

    If I dump I can see the images uploaded fine.

    I think there's trouble between php and mysql storage... but I haven't got any logs from apache..

    Can you help me please?

    Thank you.

      Have you searched the support database for similar issues? Also as a test point, have you tried both PNG and JPEG?

        I'm having a look at the support web site. But no solution for the moment.
        If I can't find something, I'll create a case there.

        I tried with PNG and JPG and have the same problem.

        My database and table are both in utf8 on mysql 5.1.49

          This may or may not help you:
          There is this short blog on a generel problem:
          The encoding, database and the dog Zabbix provides a network map feature, where images may represent triggers, hosts, host groups etc. They may show current status, problem count and lots of other data. There are some default images that may be used in the maps, and users may also upload their own. This uploading has […]

          The blog links to 2 support cases.
          (From the IRC I have seen this:"make sure to use utf8" as you do ...)

            I was not aware that dealing with images and databases was such an hard job!

            I'll take a look at this post :

            It seems that my DB is not on the correct format for all info.

            But I need to dump, backup etc.. before changing my DB structure.

            I'll post feedback here.

              Try that :
              Code:
              USE zabbix;
              ALTER DATABASE zabbix charset=utf8;
              ALTER TABLE images charset=utf8;
              (just make a backup before)

              EDIT : ah, it was the same thing on your link.
              BTY, have you finished your backups? Does it works now?
