Suddent notifications delay

Hi,

I'm using zabbix 1.8.x (currently 1.8.8) since a few month with success. I've setup different kinds of notifications (actions) and everything was working good since today.

I don't know why but now when a trigger is ON zabbix doesn't sent any notification for a long time (like around 30 minutes) but then it send them.
It looks like the notifications are being held, dunno how to explain.

Also when i check on the dashboard on the last triggers events there should be indicators telling that an action has occured (sending mail, sms) but nothing appears there too.

How are the actions processed ? is there a spool or something containing actions that must be processed ?
Is there a way to debug why actions takes age to execute ?
I've set no delay in the actions configurations so that shouldn't be the problem....

After digging a bit deeper the issue, it looks like it's the "escalator" process that is hanging the thing.

Any idea why this is happening ? I don't really understand why this process flaps from 0% to 100% ? (look at the following screenshot)

Have u checked the actions which you have created, have u enabled the escalations in the actions. Can u paste a screenshot of the actions?
