Templates menu gone after server migration

    Hi

We had our Zabbix on a server inside our LAN, but because of a bad ISP connection we kept receiving false alarms all the time about unreachable hosts. It was decided to migrate it to a dedicated server on the internet.

I installed the server (latest Debian stable), installed Zabbix and all the bells and whistles from the Debian repos, dumped the whole PostgreSQL database from the old server with pg_dumpall and restored it on the new server.

After a few adjustments things are starting to look OK again, but there's a puzzling issue, and that is that the Templates menu is gone:

Yes, the menu is gone while inside the Templates page. Irony at work here.

I checked, and the Zabbix Administrators group has access to the templates. What else should i check?

You're missing some key points, what version did you upgrade from and to, also what is the permission level of the user account being used (Zabbix Admin, Admin, or User)?

My hunch is it might be one or more of a few things.
    * You might be missing a php file or two in the web frontent
    * One of the php frontend files may have been edited to remove that menu item.
    * There may be a permissions issue going on.

It's highly unlikely to be database related.

It's the default version that comes with Debian Stable, 1.8.2. Which leads me to suspect that the problem is a version mismatch as the one in the old Ubuntu server was 1.8.3. Thanks for mentioning it.

Before doing anything else i'm going to see if i can backport at least the 1.8.6 version from Debian Testing using this as a guide, then see if the issue continues. Will post results.

        Installed it, it works now

Changing post title to reflect this was solved.
