    Availablity status: Not available, Timeout while connecting to [host]

    Hi,

    I am trying to monitor a Linux box with SNMP. I am already monitoring these Linux box with SNMP (strings and OID's). But when i try monitor the same Linux boxes (in which SNMP, is already enabled) through ZABBIX, i get the below mentioned error.

    031241:20060325:110304 In get_value_SNMP()
    031241:20060325:110304 SNMP [[email protected]:161:0]
    031241:20060325:110304 OID [.1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.11.53.0]
    031241:20060325:110304 In get_value_SNMP() 0.2
    031241:20060325:110304 In get_value_SNMP() 0.3
    031241:20060325:110310 Status send [2]
    031241:20060325:110310 In get_value_SNMP() 0.4
    031241:20060325:110310 In get_value_SNMP() 1
    031241:20060325:110310 Timeout while connecting to [10.99.99.84:161]
    031241:20060325:110310 Host [pxa5] will be checked after [60] seconds
    031241:20060325:110310 In zabbix_log()

    I find really interesting in using ZABBIX. But don't know, why i am getting this error.

    I terribely in need for you guys help, in solving this problem..

    The way to debug this problem is to run an snmpget on the same server you are running zabbix, against the OID that you have configured in this item. If there is a problem with the SNMP config on the remote host or on the Zabbix server this simple test should help...

      BTW I'm no SNMP expert but is that a valid OID? shouldn't you have a numeric value at the beginning?
