I have been using Zabbix for a while and it is great! I recently started using zabbix_sender to migrate data from Cacti into my Zabbix instance. I wrote a script that converts the RRD file to zabbix_sender format. It is working fine, but I am just curious why zabbix_sender takes so long. The data file I am migrating over is large (1.5 years of unarchived 60 second data). Below is a small piece of the output from zabbix_sender:
Info from server: "Processed 250 Failed 0 Total 250 Seconds spent 1.001556"
Info from server: "Processed 250 Failed 0 Total 250 Seconds spent 0.001409"
Info from server: "Processed 250 Failed 0 Total 250 Seconds spent 0.001419"
Info from server: "Processed 250 Failed 0 Total 250 Seconds spent 1.001588"
Info from server: "Processed 250 Failed 0 Total 250 Seconds spent 0.001405"
Info from server: "Processed 250 Failed 0 Total 250 Seconds spent 1.001473"
I am just curious what those 1 second delays are from. It takes about 20 minutes to send the entire file. If anyone has any ideas where these 1 second delays come from, I would be interested to know.
