is there any (easy) way to use HTTPS instead of HTTP for the frontend ?

open your browser and type https://hostname/zabbix instead of http://hostname/zabbix.

If your web server is configured to support https (which is pretty standard) then it will work. You will get a certificate error unless you've installed a certificate but just continue past it.

https is supported or not supported by your web server, it is not specific to zabbix.
