Creating items not gathrering any data anymore

Hi we have just migrated to zabbix 1.8. Since then every new item i create can't gather any data. Existing item are working fine. Hosts are behind a zabbix proxy. On the host I can't see the item when I do zabbix_agent -t

In this new setup the zabbix_server process is located on db that has no direct access to the web and to the zabbix proxy. Proxy send their info to the zabbix web server and then it's fowarded to the zabbix db server trought xinetd.

I would start to enable debug logging on the zabbix server to see what happens, what data is sent and received from the proxy.

If all looks fine, do the same on your proxy servers.

Found it

We forgot to update our zabbix proxy. Seems that 1.6.7 proxy and 1.8.10 server don't get along when you create item.
