    Ssh checks

    Hi people,
I configured an Ssh Check in order to login on a unix server (in SecureCrt
it shows me a pop-up to accept and store new host key fingerprint
and so I must enter login and password info).

    I put no parameters cause I want this item is useful to every host;
then when I fired item I got this error

"support for ssh checks was not compiled in"

    Thank you for help !

    bye

    I,

There are some requirements for SSH support. You should install libssh2 and compile --with-ssh2.

    Example:
    ./configure --enable-server --enable-agent --with-mysql --with-net-snmp --with-jabber --with-libcurl --with-ldap --with-ssh2

      Ok,
      now I run (Ubuntu)

      apt-get install libssh2-php

where can I find "configure" ?

        I,

In the installation process. Take a look at Step 4 in manual.

AFAICS the Zabbix packages for Ubuntu are configured with "--with-ssh2" since version 1:1.8.4-3. Please check the output of "dpkg -l 'zabbix*' " to verify the version installed on your server.

Maybe you should consider an upgrade?

                  Hi harri,
                  unfortunately this is my output

                  "No packages found matching zabbix*."

I think this is why I used this guide :

                  http://www.zabbix.com/wiki/howto/ins.../ubuntuinstall

Of course, package in the Ubuntu repository was an old version so I proceed
                  in that way.

So, how can I go on now ?

                  Thanks!!

If you prefer to build Zabbix on your own, then you have to rebuild it now using the additional option "--with-ssh2", as Zabbixflic wrote a few postings ago.

                      Hi harri,

considering Zabbix "environment" is in production,
what will I loose rebuilding from source ?

Could you give me some hints in order to backup or avoid problems ?

                      Many thanks again

                      bye!
