I have downloaded the VM appliance of zabbix. had it running for a while, populated it with lots of stuff. Now I decided to try DM setup as I have a DC and Office.
So I cloned the vm, assigned new ip address and name to the new box so I ended up with
dc1zabbix & zabbix
I followed the procedure to changed them both from node 0 to node 1 and node 2 ( zabbix -> node 1 & dc1zabbix -> node 2) and configured the node information on both nodes and setup a hierarchy master child (zabbix -> dc1zabbix)
now strangely ??? maybe, when I login to zabbix
I have all my nodes and tempates that I had when it was just one. BUT when i change the node selection to dc1, I have no hosts, not templates, infact nothing....
so I thought I would export the templates from zabbix and then import them into dc1.... I have done the template*zabbix* ones, but the next one i want to do is the template_zabbix one and it comes back with a
"Incorrect item for axis value item"
???? not sure what is wrong with the xml - looks okay to me.
Now when i login into dc1 directly all the templates are there ! and the hosts and well every thing from before and when i select zabbix from the node select it can't see any thing
Something seems wrong here !!!
Is this normal ? is there an easy way of (if I have to ) transferring the templates and the host entries and the relevant historical data ?
For what seems like an excellent programme this seems like a huge failing, I am hoping its just my bad setup that is causing the problem
