Upgrade from 1.9.9 to 2.0.0rc2

Hi,

How can i upgrade from the not functional version 1.9.9 (cant import templates) to 2.0.0rc2 which hopefuly might have this functionality back ?
I need to know if there is any DB patch/upgrade needed from 1.9.9 to 2.... ?
