Monitoring host failed

Hi All,

I'm a newbie to this software.
I've installed zabbix inside virtual box using Xubuntu linux distro.
The installation process was successful & I've managed to finished it with any trouble.
However right now I'm having an issue with successfully adding a host. (either linux or windows host)
Under the host window I can see a red icon which stated interrupted system call.

I've tried following options to solve it but none of them seems to be solving the issue.

1. Update zabbix & linux version
2. Tried adding host from different network & different Ip addresses
3. Tried different type of hosts with different templates.
4. Disable linux firewall & change default 10050 to other port.
5.Pinging host was successful.

Can you please help me to solve this problem.

Can your server even talk to the agent on port 10050 (or any other port that you have tried)? Have you tried using telnet to see if it can?

No it's not working.. Any other method to check..

If you can't even telnet to the agent from the zabbix server that probably means something is blocking the traffic. You either have a firewall on the zabbix server blocking outbound traffic, something in the network blocking traffic, or a firewall on the agent server blocking inbound traffic.

Until you figure out what is blocking the traffic, there isn't much I or anyone else can do to help.

managed to add xubuntu into zabbix monitoring system..
Tried to add the windows machine, but failed..
Can anyone please help me to add windows agent.. (steps involved)

Read about how to get a windows agent working.

You might want to use these excellent agent installers:

You basically run the installer - set the server and then maybe go and edit the config file to check settings.

Then set up Zabbix with a new Host. Set the template in the host to be a windows computer and you are set.

It is also worth having to a read through the manual before setting things up..

I've few doubts to clear

When I run the installer from windows side they prompted me for zabbix server IP..

is this supposed be a local IP address or global IP address ?
(I'm accessing zabbix by typing 10.X.X.X/zabbix)

Should I leave the port settings inside the installer as default?

Tried to run the installer but failed prematurely..

It is the address that the client uses to talk to the zabbix server. My guess is the 10.x.x.x address if they are on the same local network.

Leave the ports as default.
