    Actions on trigger Dependency

    Hi everyone,

I decide to create a new post for this topic 'cause I haven't found any solution. The thing is that when you create trigger dependencies, they work fine, but the notifications not. In my config, I created a trigger (warning) when my free space is less than 5% and another one (High) when free space is less than 1%. So, when the space goes under 1% I see only one trigger in the frontend, which is great, but I always receive two mails, one for each trigger. This is not the desire behaviour, I resist to believe that this is a zabbix bug. This topic was discussed in this post: http://www.zabbix.com/forum/showthread.php?t=20291 without a really clear solution.

I think it's basic that this works fine, thousands as me need it!!!

    Zabbix experts, plz help us!!

I have similar triggers for disk space utilization. I make them so they don't overlap. Here's an example of what you could use. This may not directly answer your question, but hopefully this helps:

Warning Severity Trigger for Less than 5%
        {expression}<5&{expression}>1

High Severity Trigger for Less than 1%
        {expression}<2

Substitute expression with your specific trigger expression, of course. And my Items only return whole numbers (not fractions), but if your Items return fractions, you may have to modify these numbers to that into account.

Edit: If you're using fractions down to two decimal places, then it would be something like this:

Warning Severity Trigger for Less than 5%
        {expression}<5.00&{expression}>0.99

High Severity Trigger for Less than 1%
        {expression}<1.00

          What about recovery messages?

You get recovery messages whenever the warnings clear and the high ones trigger. This can be confusing because people think the problem is resolved.

The problem is the dependencies aren't processed before the notifications. Even if you delay the notification, they still both email.

Thanks arbies for your answer, so interesting, but our mate is right. The trigger dependency works fine, the issue is related with the notifications.

While it's resolved, I decided to use the dependencies, no matter the double notificacion.

Many as me are waiting for a solution.

            Thanks
