Host availability in active mode

Hello Zabbix comunity,

I'm a new member of the forum, and this is my first question. hope you don't get mad!!

I am using Zabbix 1.8.2, I've installed the zabbix-server on a host, and it is perfectly monitoring the local network where it is.

I'm even trying to monitor a host on another Network without using a proxy. I had to use the agent in an (active mode), and it is happily working too. I have the latest data changing as a proof . But have the host availability notification off, I mean in grey.

I would like to know if there is a way to have the host availability on the server, when the agent is in active mode.

had similar issue, though in my case hosts that where checked by proxy were marked as being unavailable.
Check that the you have same value in hosts agents config file under "HOSTNAME" and "DNS" name in hosts configuration on your zabbix server, and also in hosts configuration there is "DNS name" checked under "Connect to" option. In my case that helped. Probably "Connect to" could stay on "IP address" if i write an IP address in hosts agent's config file under HOSTNAME. Didn't try this.
