    Inventory Automatic mode zabbix 2.0

    Inventory / Automatic mode / zabbix 2.0

    How does this inventory automatic mode work?

    As said "Host inventory can also be populated automatically. For that to work, when configuring a host the inventory mode in the Host inventory tab must be set to Automatic."

    But i dont see anything updated, I tried providing few details manually expecting that could help getting further details but not.

    i.e os = Linux version 2.6.32-220.7.1.el6.x86_64 so on may be around 3 of those.

    however zabbix_agentd -p | grep -i system.sw.os and other greps like cpu and so on provides information,

    How did i take that, it sends all those checks to server and zabbix server should plot it into inventory.

    But doesnot work the way i expected

        I believe you still have to create items that will get populated by the inventory. I created an item called "CPU Info":

        Type = zabbix agent
        Key = system.hw.cpu
        Type of information = text
        Populates host inventory field: Hardware (full details)

        That (along with setting inventory to Automatic for that host) should be enough to get data visible on the Inventory tab..
