does Linux network bonding have any adverse affects on receiving status updates from active Monitored clients?

You will normally use bonding for redundancy or/and increase of bandwidth.
So I believe you will only benefit of bonding if you have problems at server side with one of these.

we have it setup for redundancy too (connection to two different switches), nothing weird happening, so...
