    Active Client Auto Registration issues

    Hello,
    we have problems with Active Client Auto Registration.

    Clients do not show up in Zabbix server.

    Agent conf:
    Server=192.168.10.11
    Hostname=hostname of server
    StartAgents=5
    DebugLevel=3
    LogFile= c:\windows\mon\zabbix_agentd.log
    Timeout=5
    EnableRemoteCommands=1

    Do we miss something in the agent conf?

    Zabbix Server:
    We have setup this:
    http://www.zabbix.com/wiki/howto/config/autoregister

    Zabbix server: 2.0
    hosts: 1 (zabbix server)
    Zabbix agent: latest

    Have you configured an auto-discovery action?

    Look in Hosts->Actions and set Event-Source to Auto-registration

        Must the agent be a active agent?

        Server=192.168.10.11
        Hostname=hostname of server
        StartAgents=5
        DebugLevel=3
        LogFile= c:\windows\mon\zabbix_agentd.log
        Timeout=5
        EnableRemoteCommands=1

        The firewall log accept the clients:

        ACCEPT 192.168.45.10:49339 vlan45 192.168.10.11:10050 LAN-10-ICT tcp ACCESS FORWARD
        ACCEPT 192.168.20.11:57367 LAN-20-TA 192.168.10.11:10050 LAN-10-ICT tcp ACCESS FORWARD
        ACCEPT 192.168.45.10:49327 vlan45 192.168.10.11:10050 LAN-10-ICT tcp ACCESS FORWARD

          I have the same problem. Everything is supposedly configured according to all instructions available but nothing happens and there is no way to debug why.

            I went into the MySQL database on the Zabbix server and noticed there are no autoreg lines in the database. It seems as if there is some issue with the client, maybe it does not even try to auto-register?

            Code:
            mysql> select * from autoreg_host;
            Empty set (0.04 sec)

              The Registration comes from an active client. so you also need:
              ServerActive=192.168.10.11

                We how now been using this very simple conf for over a year:

                Code:
                StartAgents=0
                ServerActive=zabbix-server.example.com
                Hostname=host.example.com
                Nothing more is needed. StartAgents needs to be 0 to disable non-active agents.

                  just a little note:
                  Code:
                  Hostname={name_of_your_client_PC}
                  Don't write a name of zabbix server in Hostname= keyword.
                  Sincerely yours,
                  Aleksey
