Pollers & Trappers & queue (oh my)

What is the relationship between pollers and trappers, what is the function of each? As a general rule how many of each should I have configured in zabbix_server.conf in relationship to the number of items I am monitoring with zabbix_agentd.

I am using b9 without snmp, with agentd running on about 20 servers. It will be more if can get the data collection tuned better. Currently I seem to be losing data due to a high number of items in the queue. This is effecting how my graphs draw, as indicated by big blank spots on any graph less than 24 hours.

ZABBIX 1.1beta9 incorrectly handles timeout situations which maybe be the reason why you have such issues. It has already been fixed. Please wait for next release.
