Can a Zabbix Item serve as the Key for another Zabbix item

    Hi,

I wanted to add a Zabbix Item, which can use the value of another Zabbix Item, for manipulation. Please let me know if this is possible in Zabbix.

I have tried adding two different items, with different names but same keys, but this is not allowed in Zabbix.

    Kindly help.

    Thanks

    Hi,

Then your second item has to be a calculated item, in which you use the value of the first one.
    See http://www.zabbix.com/documentation/...l/config/items
    (13 - Calculated items)

    Cheers,

    r/

      Hi raoul,

Thanks for your reply. My problem statement is that I need to calculate the difference between the last and the last but one value of an item without using the Store As - Delta (Speed per sec) option.

I have seen that the latest value can be found using last[<key>] syntax. Do you know how do we refer to the previous value (last but one)?

      Thanks
      Avinash

My original item is a user parameter, which I have defined on the SQL server using the sqlcmd utility that executes and pulls out value from the DB using a sql query.

I have attached the item image FYR.

            last(#1) : last one
            last(#2) : previous one

last() syntax is described in the manual

            Hope this helps
