    trigger bandwidth for snmp device

    hi
    I am using zabbix 2.0 I want to create a trigger/alert when the bandwidth usuage of my netgear router port exceeded to a particular percentage. there are many threads no one is exact .
    Please gv me the link pf step by step doing it if possible.

    The answer to your question depends on a couple of things:

    1. Does your netgear router support SNMP? If it doesn't, I don't believe your request will be possible to do.
    2. You want a trigger that goes off for a percentage of what? Percentage of 100Mbps? 1Gbps? You'll have to define that to create your trigger.

    The way I would create this is to have items for both inbound and outbound traffic. Then I would set up a trigger something like this:

    100*(({g2t0347g.austin.hp.com:net.if.in[{#IFNAME},bytes].last(0)}+{g2t0347g.austin.hp.com:net.if.out[{#IFNAME},bytes].last(0)})/[your_max_bandwith_in_bytes])>[your_threshold_percentage]

      yes netgear router support snmp .
      the speed id 1Gps.
      I did not get how to triiger it..
      I mean what will be the avlue of key, expression value and yes other parameters for the incoming and outgoing traffic trigger

        yes my netgear router support snmp,speed is 1Gps i want if the bandwidth increases 72% of the total it give a alert
        I did not get ur reply as items are by default created when i added a template to monitor the reaffic
        Now how create trigger because the functiion you gave in not givn by default
