    Simple Check ssh doesn't work

I have an item configured with simple check for ssh with this key: net.tcp.service[ssh,,22], but it stays down. i tried with net.tcp.service[tcp,,22], but no positive effect either.

i can reach a http(s) port on the same target system with a similar key fine, just ssh doesnt work.

ssh works on the target system, i can login on it.

anyone that came across this before? what could this be?

i saw something about a whole setup for an ssh check, so no simple check, that isn't needed for the simple check right?

When you say the check doesn't work, what do you mean? Do you mean that it detects the service as down, or does the item get marked as unsupported?

ok, problem solved, there was some internal routing / firewall issue causing this. at least i know a lot more about zabbix monitoring now.
