    Works for me with same server config, so let's check basics:

    Does "grep ^Fping zabbix_server.conf" return /usr/bin/fping?

    Your permissions on the file are more restrictive than mine (I have 4755, with owner and group set to root), but if your zabbix_server is running from an account which is part of the group "zabbix", yours should work as well. (Just log into the account and try an fping to one of the servers.)

    My "Ping" item is configured as follows:

    Type: Simple check
    Key: icmpping
    Type of information: Numeric (unsigned)
    Data type: Decimal
    (...)
    Status: Enabled

    Does that match yours?

        Really strange.

        Could you please execute the following commands from your zabbix user account and post the results?

        $ ls -l `which fping`
        $ cd directory-where your-zabbix_server.conf-file-resides
        $ ls -l `grep ^Fping /etc/zabbix/zabbix_server.conf | awk -F= '{print $2}'`
        $ id
        $ ps auxw | grep zabbix_server | awk '{print $1}' | sort -u

            This may be a long shot, but could you try editing your zabbix_server.conf file and removing the space in front of the "FpingLocation" definition? (You need to restart zabbix_server when you change the config file.)

            Also, could you post the results of these commands:

            $ ls -l /usr/local/etc/zabbix_server.conf
            $ ls -l /etc/zabbix/zabbix_server.conf

              I got this for you command
              Code:
              root@zabbixmonitor:~# ls -l /usr/local/etc/zabbix_server.conf
              -rw-r--r-- 1 root staff 10388 Feb 19 10:32 /usr/local/etc/zabbix_server.conf

                  Strange. Then where does the error come from?

                  I used to have problems with the config file in /usr/local/etc. I ended up moving it to /etc/zabbix and creating a soft link in /usr/local/etc.

                  So did you try removing that space character?

                    I resolved the problem finaly .

                    The problem was the Item Type

                    It was the zabbix agent not Simple check.
