installation doesnt move from setup screen

    Hi,
We've just installed zabbix 2.0.2 from distribution packages on ubuntu 12 server.

all is ok, but once i've run through the gui setup, it doesnt move forward onto the actual gui?
zabbix-server is running, apache2 is set up correctly (copied existing setup) and we're using mysql which is configured correctly.

[edit] I have noticed that when i call any php file (e.g. dashboard.php) i dont get any error, i still get the splash screen as if i have to setup zabbix)

Can anyone point me in right direction?

    Thanks,

    Tom

Did you copy your old zabbix.conf.php back into the new frontend? That's what I do when I upgrade.

    (Usually into something like /var/www/html/conf/zabbix.conf.php)

ALthough if this will work I'll give it a go?

      Anything else?

No... as long as you copied all the new frontend files into place, I think you should be good. Any particular reason you went with 2.0.2 instead of the current stable 2.0.4 release?

(I believe 1.8.x --> 2.x has a DB upgrade. Did you run the DB upgrade scripts?)

(Edit) Disregard the question on 2.0.2 vs 2.0.4 - I see you installed through packages and probably took the latest available in those.

          upgrade

          Hi,

          This is a fresh install.
We are doing a parallel running migration, so the 1.8.16 box wont be switched off until the 2.0.x box is running fine and is working a-ok.

          Ta,

          Tom

I still think it is your zabbix.conf.php file. I think that is what triggers the setup splash screen. Might want to check ownership/permissions of that file.

the zabbix.conf.php file exists, and the permissions\ownership are all ok.

Running through the setup, it says its all OK at the end.
              No errors!

cm2000, try clearing your browser cache and cookies - that's what did it for me. Another Zabbix instance was interfering with my new install.

include/config.inc.php line ~110 checks for this.

                if (file_exists($ZBX_CONFIGURATION_FILE) && !isset($_COOKIE['ZBX_CONFIG']) && !isset($DENY_GUI)) {
