Triggers work, but actions do not.

My problem is virtually identical to this thread: https://www.zabbix.com/forum/showthread.php?t=28517

    I'm running Zabbix 2.0.1

I have a laptop with a fixed IP address.
I set up a host in Zabbix for this laptop with the fixed IP address.
I created an item for icmpping. It's enabled and error free.

    I created a trigger.

    I created an action.

I know the trigger is going off because it shows up on my dashboard when I turn off the network card on the laptop. When I turn the card back on, the alert goes away and it goes back to green in Zabbix. I am not however seeing any actions taking place and I am not receiving any emails.

I have received emails before from Zabbix when my agent was unreachable and I fixed the problem and it came back online. I'm just now starting to create my own items, triggers, and actions. I know the email works, so what else can be causing the actions to not go off when there's a problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hmm

Try to check the users permissions (admin/super admin/zabbix user/ groups/read only). Or just to test, try to use the admin user.

And take a look at zabbix log.

Thanks, that was my problem. The user was a regular admin and for some reason didn't have read / write access to the test group I created, even though it had it for everything else. I made the user a super admin and now I'm getting emails like I should. Thanks again!

        No problems! ^^

By the way, you should answer that in the topic you quoted, who knows... Could be the same problem and this "hint" may help others.

        Best regards,
        Mauro
