Started using the maps and noticed that the router image is identical to the network image, while all other objects have their own image (e.g. phone). Shouldn't there be a separate image for the router?

Of course there should be.
But really, if you're doing any serious work with Zabbix maps, you should probably be using your own images. -
Look at google -> pic and search for router. Select your favorite picture and save it on your client. Then upload the picture to the zabbix server and use it.
