Hi, I run Zabbix 2.0.5 on my server and agent on another server. The agent keeps crashing randomly. I have to log in and manually start the zabbix-agent service, it would run for a while and then stop and then I'd do it again so on. Zabbix server is running Debian6 and agent is on a CentOS 6.3. Anyone had similar problems? What should I do?

have you checked the agent log file for reasons?
- increase the debug level and restart the agent service for added logging detail. -

Hi have you compiled the agent by yourself? If yes - have you compiled it on the target system or a build host. Which kernel version was installed while compiling?
We have similar problems some time ago. We built our agent for all our systems a a build host which running a kernel before 2.6.26. Some target systems running newer kernel versions. Since the socket management in 2.6.26 was changed the agents gone away randomly.
After building different agent-versions for centos5, centos6, oneiric and precise in single chroots the problem was solved.
