    zabbix server is not running:the information displayed may not be current

    Hello,
    I am very disappointed,
    I installed zabbix 1 month ago,
    since that day I ve been strugling with the error below:
    zabbix server is not running:the information displayed may not be current.
    Ifelt I couldn't continue if the server is not running.
    I went through many forums and I followed every recommendation but none
    of them could solve my issue.
    Any one can help me?
    I am really frustrated as I had a big project with zabbix.
    Thanks

    It would be a bit more helpful if you listed which solutions you tried, otherwise we don't know what you've looked at. As for things to check, here are a few:

    1. Have you logged into the Zabbix server and verified that it IS actually running?

    2. Have you set the proper values for the location of the zabbix server in "zabbix.conf.php" (located in the "conf" directory of the Zabbix web files)? The values that must be set correctly are $ZBX_SERVER and $ZBX_SERVER_PORT. This is required for the web interface to detect if the Zabbix server is running.

      Below is the zabbix.conf.php conf settings:

      $ZBX_SERVER_NAME = "";

          did you restart apache so he take into account the modified setting ?

            FYI:

            Had the same problem - changing $ZBX_SERVER to the IP-adress instead of 'localhost' /DNS-name worked.

              Does it connect if you change port to 10050 in /var/www/zabbix/conf/zabbix.conf.php?

              What is the content of zabbix_server log file?

                Check SELinux, log and configuration file (check that you have uncommented "StartTrappers=5" in zabbix_server.conf).
                Also, please read:

                  I am also experiencing this (or very similar). The only difference in my symptoms is that is happens only intermittently, and if i refresh the page it goes away.

                  I have a slightly different set up, in that my sql database is on a separate server. Zabbix server and http front end both run on the same machine.

                  I have selinux completely disabled.
                  I have changed the previously suggested settings to use IP addresses instead of localhost or dns name in both the zabbix_server config and the http config.
                  I've checked and zabbix server is running on port 10051 and is configured as such (the agent is listening on 10050).
                  I've also adjusted the StartTrappers but don't think that's the problem here, as Zabbix is running perfectly on the backend, I think it's just web service(apache2)->server(zabbix_server) communication (both of which run locally on the same system).

                  I get no errors to indicate anything wrong in the zabbix_log either.

                  Does anyone have any other suggestions?

                    This my be helpful, i had the same problem, even i tried changing de port on zabbix.conf.php to 10050 and the server start to run on webpage, but that wasn't the solution.

                    i reverse the change and put por 10051 again, then starte to investigate an try different things but after this change:

                    add this to /etc/services:

                    zabbix-agent 10050/tcp # Zabbix Agent
                    zabbix-agent 10050/udp # Zabbix Agent
                    zabbix-trapper 10051/tcp # Zabbix Trapper
                    zabbix-trapper 10051/udp # Zabbix Trapper

                    and then on /etc/init.d/zabbix-server i added:
                    PATH=/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/local/bin:/sbin:/usr/sbin:/usr/local/sbin

                    after this changes the frontend shows me Zabbix server is running YES.

                    hope this will help, by the way i am installing zabbix 2.4.3 on Debian server with Postgresql.

                      Zabbix server or database performance can be a reason here also. Check graphs from "Template App Zabbix Server" (http://blog.zabbix.com/monitoring-ho...esses-are/457/) and Zabbix server log file after enabling "LogSlowQueries" (https://www.zabbix.com/documentation.../zabbix_server).

                        You should set proper database password in /etc/zabbix/zabbix_server.conf

                        find DBPassword in the configuration file, uncomment it, and set it to your password, like:

                        Code:
                        DBPassword=mypassword

                          Problema Solucionado

                          Estou usando o Ubuntu 16.04 e o Zabbix 3.2. Tive o mesmo problema:

                          zabbix server is not running the information displayed may not be current

                          Editei o arquivo /etc/zabbix/zabbix_server.conf , descomentando a linha CacheSize = 8M. Alterei também o tamanho do Cache para 32M e foi resolvido.

                          Att.

                            The problem first started like this. Due to the increasing number of clients

                            Cache_Size on /etc/zabbix/zabbix_server.conf should be increased in the case when it needed. Usually, zabbix server write about in the zabbix_server.log file.

                            Have you checked the SELinux as it was proposed above and trappers proxy busy state by graph?
