    Monitoring MSSQL 2005

    Hi,
This is a bit off topic but I MSSQL perfmon metrics seem to be missing. If I run perfmon through SQL Server Profiler/Tools they are all there. However when I run perfmon from the run command they are missing.

Has anyone else got this problem and have they managed to solve it? This seems to be causing my Zabbix PerfCounter of SQL data to fail :/

    Cheers,
    Garry

Yeah, this will cause those items to fail (if they don't appear in perfmon zabbix can't hook them)...

I've had a couple boxes here at work have the same problem...but i really don't know how to resolve it...

    if anyone knows, please post

There are a couple of KB articles on the MS site.

Search for "corrupt performance counters" and i'm sure you find what you need.

(You need to rebuild the perf counters folowing the ms docs)

After a bit of investigation I have found that issue is with perfmon. My version of the performance DLL is 32-bit and it can't be loaded into the 64-bit version of perfmon!!

When I run the version of perfmon in c:\windows\syswow64 (which is 32-bit apparently) the counters show up.

I have stuck some posts on mssql lists for help with this.
