    Monitoring disk percentage

I have created a trigger with the following expression:
    ({Unix_t:vfs.fs.size[/home,free].last(0)}/{Unix_t:vfs.fs.size[/home,total].last(0)})*100<10

I get the following error in the log:

006178:20060612:173439 Division by zero. Cannot evaluate expression [1211760.000000/0.000000]
006178:20060612:173439 Division by zero. Cannot evaluate expression [1211760.000000/0.000000]
006178:20060612:173439 Evaluation of expression [1211760.000000/0.000000<100] failed [Division by zero. Cannot evaluate expression [1211760.000000/0.000000]]
006178:20060612:173439 Expression [{11916}/{11917}<100] cannot be evaluated [Division by zero. Cannot evaluate expression [1211760.000000/0.000000]]

I can run the individual commands from the command-line:
    # zabbix_get -sTheMachine -kvfs.fs.size[/home,total]
    32768
    # zabbix_get -sTheMachine -kvfs.fs.size[/home,free]
    3900

Why is that expression not working correctly? What have i done wrong?

    Cheers,
    Garry

Is vfs.fs.size[/home,total] a monitored item on that host? And is it an integer or a float?

Look at the data history on the zabbix server for both those items, make sure they're both being tracked.

If they are, I dunno, maybe another bug?

Also, cheers for coming up with that expression, I think I'll use it on some of my RAID drives.

I solved the problem. The "Custom Multiplier" was set to 0. It is set to 0 for all the vfs.fs.size[*,total] checks for some reason!!! Is this done by default on installation? I have a vanilla 1.1 installation.

        RE: Monitoring Disk percentage

Just thought I would post a note here for future travlers...

in at least 1.1.3 and up create an item:
        Disk percent free: vfs.fs.size[/, pfree]

        and the trigger becomes:
        {Unix_t:vfs.fs.size[/, pfree].last(0)} < 10

        Cheers!

        Bill
