    Web Monitoring not working

    Hi Friends,

    I am trying to setup web monitoring in zabbix 2.0.6 as per zabbix documentation with real time scenario. I have set it up exactly same way as described in doc but i am receiving error in first step " Error: Required pattern not found". Can anyone tell me how to trouble shoot this kind of errors?

    I have created steps as per https://www.zabbix.com/documentation..._life_scenario.

    Thanks in advance for your time.

    Regards,
    Vijay

    These are the steps I use for the simple Zabbix frontend check.
    The only thing painted out is the IP of my Zabbix server.

    Maybe this will help.

      Thanks for your time. The only difference i see with mine is you have specified port number in the URLs. Do we need to specify port numbers in urls? While accessing zabbix i don't specify port number in URL.

      Vijay

        I think you would only have to use port number if you have a virtual host set up... which we do.

        Do you have the "scenario" section set up like this?

          After removing matched pattern i am able to setup web monitoring properly. Is there anyway i can get "Required String" field from the webpage in case of setting rule for it?

          Regards,
          Vijay

            Please show configuration for scenario and step 1, so it will be easier to tell what the problem is.

                Hmm, the settings is correct. Do I understand correctly that the error occurs when you add "Zabbix" to "Required string" in step1?
                Try on zabbix server execute the command:
                curl http://10.153.79.110/zabbix/index.php
                and check that required string exist.

                  Yeah inside content it does display Zabbix SIA.

                  curl http://10.153.79.110/zabbix/index.php
                  <!doctype html>
                  <html>
                  <head>
                  <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=Edge"/>
                  <title>Zabbix</title>
                  <meta name="Author" content="Zabbix SIA" />
                  <meta charset="utf-8" />
                  <link rel="shortcut icon" href="images/general/zabbix.ico" />
                  <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="css.css" />
                  <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="styles/themes/originalblue/main.css" />

                    I think I had the same issue when I included "SIA" in my required string.
                    When I just made it "Zabbix", then it worked.

                      Ohh my bad..I was typing "SIA Zabbix" instead of "Zabbix SIA" that is why it was crying out.

                      Can we monitor report fetching functionality in a website via Zabbix?

                      Regards,
                      Vijay

                          Suppose we are generating reports for monthly bank statement by providing proper arguments. Can we monitor this kind report generating functionality of a website via zabbix?

                          Regards,

                            You can, if information about the successful report generation is available for example, on web site (web monitoring) or in a log file (log file monitoring).

                              Thanks everyone for your time and support. I will try to test report generating functionality of my website via zabbix and update the results.
