Item history lenght

Hi!

Is there a way to set items' history lenght to values less than one day?

I would like to check availability of large group of hosts, but don't really care about historical data. Unfortunately, part of this hosts tends to loose pings from time to time and creating triggers based on latest values would generate fake alarms. Because of that I would have to make triggers which are operating on more than one values and to that I need history. Zabbix should check availability of this hosts quite often and that would generate lots of checks per host.

You can put 0, 1 or more than 1 day:
If history is set to '0', Zabbix will only be able to calculate triggers that check the last value. Historical values would not be stored in the database at all, except for the last value for the item itself.

Thanks, I was afraid of that, but fortunately I've found a solution. Adding in item definition number of counts and setting an interval for more than 20sec for icmpping/icmpingloss check does the trick - no need for keeping history and avoiding fake alerts on loosing single ping.

Item example: icmppingloss[,4,30000,,].
