SNMP Processors Graph

Hi .. Zabbix newbie doing some comparisons against our existing systems.

I'm comparing the agent and raw snmp output for a Linux box. It has the OS Linux SNMP template applied which then has the SNMP Processors template linked.

What I cant seem to do is create/find a graph to show me the output of the CPU util. If I check in Monitoring | Latest Data for the server then the data is being collected and graphs are available there.

But I would have expected to be able to find something via Monitoring | Graphs and navigate to the device. What I see are only the disk and network traffic graphs.

I'm sure someone will say use the agent and don't make it more difficult but there 'could' be times when SNMP is the only option ..

You need to create your own graphs. If you are applying that template to several servers, then create a graph at the template level and it will be available to all servers you assign the template to. If it is a graph that would be unique to only one server, then create it at the host level.

Go to Configuration --> Templates --> <your template> --> Click on "Graphs" and then at top right, "Create Graph"

The graph shown at the bottom is of SNMP items from one of our NetApp devices. The items that make up the graph are this:

Thanks for the reply and advice. I think this is the root of my issue.

The Template SNMP doesn't have any items to add to a graph, I think due to the dynamic rule ? (guess)



So I tried adding a graph prototype to the discovery rule, which it allowed and showed the item :



But the graph never appears. monitoring | graphs is where I expected.

You are correct in that it should show under Monitoring --> Graphs for any hosts you have that template assigned to.

The graph is part of the discovery rule... and I know anything to do with discovery rules can take upwards of an hour to take effect. Whether that applies to a graph or not... I'm not sure.

Take a look today and see if it might be listed.

Alternatively, you could try creating a graph directly for the host, at the host level, instead of doing it through the discovery rule... just for troubleshooting purposes.

Configuration --> Hosts --> <find your host> --> Click on "graphs" --> "Create Graph" at the top right corner.

Even if the item you want to use is part of the discovery process, it should appear as a choice to add to your graph.

Creating the graph at the host level works. So making progress.

Seems template and also the dynamic graph is still problematic so will persever .. Thanks for your help
