Server looks OK. So you are not installing any agents, right? You are doing SNMP and ICMP monitoring?

Show us how you have a host configured in the frontend for SNMP monitoring.

In fact, just after a restart of zabbix_server, nothing happens !

I have 3 discovery jobs, each one with 3 checks :

-- ICMP delay 300 : Sometimes, it works but i have to wait 24 hours ot have a partial result (not all hosts have been discovered). It tested ping and fping directly from the server and it's ok !

-- SNMPv2 agent ".1.3.6.1.2.1.1.5 : I checked with snmpwalk diretly on the server and it works perfectly. I tried with "sysName.0" nut nope !

-- Zabbix agent "system.name"

What is the result :

-- Discovery of 2 switches : nothing

-- discovery of 86 hosts (a site) : found 8 but no traces on log

-- discovery of 76 machine (another site) : found 5 hosts out of 76... and no trace on log

A restart or reboot the server changes nothing. I have to wait almost 24 hours and i have a partial result.

Strange, isn't it !!

By the way, i have 2 hosts with agents : the server and my PC. None of both is detected on zabbix

Can you do some screenshots of the actual configuration of your hosts?
MWSnap is freeware that does very good screenshots.

Have you assigned any templates to your hosts?

Also, I think you need to look at "auto registration" instead of discovery.

I hope this is what you need cause i don't configure hosts. They are automaticaly populated from the discovery.

For the moment, i created action to add host on hostgroup but not on template

You can see on the hosts list that sb07412w have an agent but is not detected (in fact, the agent for the server is seen, mistack from me, sorry)

Where can i found what zabbix is doing. I hava verbose=3 but still nothing on zabbix_server.log except the few lines when irestart the service.

Is there a cronjob i can check ?

I found on issue on the dashboard of zabbix applied to the zabbix server :

Evaluation failed for function: {Zabbix server:agent.ping.nodata(5m)}

Is it something related with my mess ?

I found something strange.
When i reboot my server, i have this message :

 1075:20130627:162607.925 [Z3001] connection to database 'zabbix' failed: [2002] Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2)

But if only restart the service, this message doesn't appear in the log !

Ok, well you have to assign templates to your hosts, otherwise Zabbix isn't going to monitor anything from them. On the machines that you have Zabbix agent on, attach the appropriate OS template. For instance, I assume your Zabbix server is Linux, so attach Template OS Linux to it and you should start seeing data under Monitoring --> Latest Data --> <host>

For your SNMP hosts, you need to attach an SNMP template to them. Try Template SNMP Generic and/or Template SNMP Interfaces.

I think your Zabbix server is fine. Look at the servers where you have the agent installed and look for zabbix_agentd.log

The path to that log is defined in zabbix_agentd.conf

I see on your screenshot for ?Zabbix server" you have a red X. Hover your mouse over that X and see if it gives you an error message.

Hi,

I assigned templates to my hosts. I have datas for the zabbix server. Ok for that.

Like magic, some hosts were discovered during the night. I watched the zabbox_server.log but found nothing about the discovery. Where can i find BIG logs to understant what and when something happen on this server ?
