    Zabbix-Server installation on Debian wheezy?

    Hi Guys,

i'm the new one My name is Marcel from Germany.

I'm new with Linux and Zabbix as well but I already trieb a lot things and got a Xen Server working for me with some Windows and Linux PV CLients.

One of this is a Zabbix domU. I already did several new installations of this domU because of not working installations of zabbix...

The last I trieb was a compilation of the sources, but it doenst work as well...

I did the step by step tutorial from zabbix website. The frontend is working and i already had this bug with not working password. Solved

But the biggest problem is: I compiled the source, but nowhere i can find any zabbix folders/files.

apt-get or aptitude didnt work too...

Sry for the bad amount of information. hope u can help me...

    Regards

    Try compiling the package with:
"./configure --prefix=/usr", this will change the default installation path from "/usr/local" to "/usr".

When in doubt use one of the two commands to locate files on your system:

    find / | egrep -E "[Z][z]abbix"

    or

    find / -name "zabbix".

The later will work fine for most general searches. The nice thing about grep is that you can specify regex and specific names without having any issues.

    find / | grep -Fi "ZaBbIx_agenT.conf"

    ... etc
