How do I debug no alerts?

I have completed the following config:

1. Media Type - Email - using local postfix
2. User - Media - Multiple defined to different emails
3. Action - Source=Trigger, directed at single user from step 2.

I setup a host with simple check icmpping with a non-exist IP so that it would always fail. I never get emails. Under actions, it doesnt even look like its trying.

How can I debug to see if its trying to fire off an action?
