    SNMP V3 oddities in 2.2 alpha

    Hi

    We're using 2.2 alpha (2.14 I think) because we need the authentication and privacy settings for some SNMP3 devices.

    What we've noticed is that the SNMP 3 items eventually start showing an "incorrect password, community or key" error. They start monitoring normally and we get data back but leave them for a few checking periods and we get a red cross and that error.

    I can test the data from the zabbix server using SNMP walk with the same details as the items and I constantly get valid data back.

    I could almost understand it if the items never worked but its the fact that they work then error which is odd.

    We can get them working again by deleting the template and re-importing it. At which point the data flows for a few periods then slowly they give us back the authentication error.

    Anyone else seen this?

    Here's an example of the flapping from the logs;

    Code:
    g2-pc:~/zabbix-2.1.4 # tail -n100 /var/log/zabbix/zabbix_server.log | grep UpTime
     25090:20130912:153420.948 item [FreePBX:astConfigUpTime.0] became supported
     25075:20130912:153621.200 item [FreePBX:astConfigUpTime.0] became not supported: Could not connect to "10.1.39.33:161": Authentication failure (incorrect password, community or key)
     25075:20130912:154417.637 item [FreePBX:astConfigUpTime.0] became supported
     25076:20130912:154517.456 item [FreePBX:astConfigUpTime.0] became not supported: Could not connect to "10.1.39.33:161": Authentication failure (incorrect password, community or key)
     25074:20130912:160420.376 item [FreePBX:astConfigUpTime.0] became supported
     25075:20130912:161421.851 item [FreePBX:astConfigUpTime.0] became not supported: Could not connect to "10.1.39.33:161": Authentication failure (incorrect password, community or key)
     25076:20130912:162418.149 item [FreePBX:astConfigUpTime.0] became supported
     25074:20130912:163419.036 item [FreePBX:astConfigUpTime.0] became not supported: Could not connect to "10.1.39.33:161": Authentication failure (incorrect password, community or key)
