Error building ASN.1 representation (Can't build OID for variable)

Hello, I'm a relatively new Zabbix user and I've been receing this error consistently for quite some now. I have Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and I've installed Zabbix via the packages method and all seemed fine until I added the host in question. It repeatedly says that it can't connect to the hosts IP address and thus SNMP is always redded out in the hosts group menu.
What are the potential causes for this error and does anyone know what ways they can be fixed? One method I encountered on other forums was to get the MIB downloader but that did nothing, any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Ji, getting the same error... and what is the most interesting, it was working previously,

I have updtated MIB files, and I am wondering if I need to have zabbix server restart?

      Moved to another topic, https://www.zabbix.com/forum/showthread.php?t=44093

This is an old thread. I have reached here too. Not sure why this happened suddenly

        Regards,
        Avi

This is likely caused by something missing at the start of your OID path, or a MIB missing. For example, leaving the leading '1' off the OID '1.3.6.1.4.1.2636.3.15.2.1.2' gave me this error.
