    upgrade to v2.2.0

After upgraded to v2.2.0 and ran the setup.php on the web browser, I received below message:

Configuration file error: The frontend does not match Zabbix database. Current database version (mandatory/optional): 2010033/2010033. Required mandatory version: 2020000. Contact your system administrator.

    Please advise.

    Thanks

You were quick to connect to the database. I have another problem. Database updated, the server is up. A web frontend does not connect. Even in the setting mode. Connection test fails.

The frontend does not match Zabbix database.

That's weird. I'm using mysql DB and it was fine.

I had the problem when I killed the database upgrade and restart the zabbix_server again and it failed for database upgrade, so I had to restore the database and do it again. After that, it is working. I'm using mysql DB. I wonder if there is bug for POSTGRESQL database upgrade.

              How? I don't know

                  Hi,

I had the same problem. I fixed it by upgrading my Ubuntu Distro:

                  apt-get dist-upgrade -u

The problem was that the zabbix-mysql didn't upgrade automatically.

                  After rebooting everything is fine.

                  Good luck!

                  Danny

                    Same issue going to 2.4

I see this same issue, and tons of forum posts in multiple languages all over the web about it. Seems there are problems in many cases with upgrading to a new zabbix version where the database does not work for some reason.

                    Database error
The frontend does not match Zabbix database. Current database version (mandatory/optional): 2010033/2010033. Required mandatory version: 2040000. Contact your system administrator.

Does anyone know how to fix this or force the database to upgrade since the update apparently isn't doing it properly? I also note that the new zabbix agent fails to install for some reason.

invoke-rc.d: initscript zabbix-agent, action "start" failed.
                    dpkg: error processing zabbix-agent (--configure):
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
                    Errors were encountered while processing:
                    zabbix-agent
                    E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

Lastly, it's relevant to note that the front end updated fine, but the server needed to be specifically installed (sudo apt-get install zabbix-server-mysql) because it was being "kept back" for unknown reasons.

                    Ubuntu 12.0.4 server LTS

Thanks. That resolved it for me as well on Debian Wheezy.

Using packages on a test server I installed Zabbix 2.0 and then installed Zabbix 2.4.5 right on top of it. This gave me the error "frontend does not match Zabbix database."

                      apt-get dist-upgrade -u

And then restarting zabbix resolved it.
