Problems with "Latest data" after 2.2.0 upgrade

    Hi,

Couldn't wait and upgraded my master node and two proxies to 2.2.0 this morning. Maybe a bit too early...

Upgrade went smoothly and without any problems, nice. All checks are working fine.

But i have very big problems when trying to show values within the "latest data" section. At the end MySQL DB crashes sooner or later because it hasn't enough RAM. This worked fine all the time, never had any problems with older versions. Even increasing RAM doesn't help anything.

    An example:
I'm opening Latest data section. Group "one" is open, it has four hosts with around 35-40 checks each. Fine. Selecting another host of the group sometimes takes around 10 seconds to loaded. Was much less then one second before. Loaded one time, it seems to be fast again. At least for some time.

OK, lets switch to another group. Group "two", three devices, 16 Items each. Takes 8 seconds to load, less than one before the upgrade... Most often it doesn't even switches to the new group, but jumps back to the one which was selected before.

Next group. Now it's getting interesting... Cisco switches, three of them, around 2600 checks all together (yes, 2600...).
RAM of the MySQL Process jumps from ~9% to ~50% (1.8g), CPU at 100%. RAM keeps slowly growing. CPU comes down after some minutes. No values shown at all...

Switching to another group and back to the Cisco switches. Same behavior as before, RAM jumps from 55% to 87% (3.3g), system starts to swap. If i do this one more time now, MySQL crashes and restarts...

How can that be? Worked amazingly fine with 2.0.9 and 2GB RAM before, and now, with 2.2.0 it's not. Even if i double the RAM. Very very strange...

    Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the detailed information. I have brought it to the attention of the Devs.

Probably be appropriate if you opened a bug: https://support.zabbix.com/

You will need to create an account there if you don't already have one. It is separate from your forum account.

Don't think it's the same problem.

It's slow even if i only have 40 items. And, every load of the latest data pages fills up the memory more and more until MySQL crashes. So, i can't use Zabbix anymore at the moment because of this...

Same problem here. Can't load 'Latest Data'.
                DB Backend is Oracle.

I originally thought it was stale stats jobs but that's been rerun and OEM had a few suggestions as well which have been implemented. Still, I can't load Latest Data.

ZBX-7373 patch dramatically improved our performance from 90 secs to less than a sec to bring up about 1300 items in latest data in Zabbix 2.2.

So how do we get this kind of issue solved?

Regarding ZBX-7373 patch, where to get this and how do we apply this ?

Since 2.2.0 the page just loads forever and no errors are logged in zabbix logs, nor is slow query logging any hits despite I´ve set 3 seconds as a max time for queries.

I´ve also reinstalled database and done all the work to setup all hosts etc again but still no progress, same issue even if the setup is new and clean.

My setup is 21 hosts and about ~3000 items in total.

I'm also having a lot of performance issues with 2.2

Before with 2.0.9 I had no problems
But now with 2.2 my CPU and IO are in 100% all the time :\

                        Hi,

In our lab environment, after upgrading from 2.0.9 to 2.2.1 nothing is show in Monitoring > Latest data when selected all from Group and Host. This behavior happens to anyone else?

Have you reviewed your cache settings?

                            Hi,

I am reviewing our ValueCacheSize settings, but still cant load Monitoring > Latest data when selected all from Group and Host.

                              clean install of 2.2.1

                              Also having issues ...

When I select just 1 server to look at it loads fine. But when I select everything, it will try to load for around 30 seconds and eventually just display a blank screen.

Maybe it's just too much for it to show, but the VM resources are not taxed other than the CPU which is at 100% when trying to display everything. I've added a second VCPU which doesn't seem to help.
