Just wanted to report, that NTP is indeed the solution.

We had the exact problem. About 1000 items missing for over ten minutes. Happend just after the upgrade from 2.0.X to 2.2.X.
We use Debian for Zabbix Server and Proxys. I installed NTP on all of them and added our NTP-Server to the config. About 2-3 hours later, the 10 minutes queue was empty and even the 5 minutes queue. Thank you very much!

Are you using SNMP queries with dynamic OIDs?? After version 2.2.1 it appears to have a problem with snmp dynamic queries. if you are using templates try to change to numeric OIDs.

We have the same problem after upgrading from 2.0.6 to 2.2.2 (new installation). We are planing to install 4 proxies to distribute the traffic over the firewall, but, after we install 2 proxies we notice the huge queue, after the sync (master and proxies) via NTP every 30 minutes the queue is lower.

        My scenario:
        Proxy01
        Mode: Active
        Host Count: 24
        Item Count: 1366
        VPS: 19.72
        Queue After 10 minutes: 58

        Proxy02
        Mode: Active
        Host Count: 8
        Item Count: 570
        VPS: 6.98
        Queue After 10 minutes: 36

We configured 287 hosts and 16300 items (VPS: 197.6) to test the scenario. In our planning it will increase until 1000+ hosts and 100k+ items.

I had/have the same problem. A 'watch date' didn't show any differences between the Zabbix server and my 2 proxies, but installing ntp on all three of them seemed to have solved the issue for now.

I'm still seeing more items 'in queue' when using the proxies vs. monitoring all nodes from server though.

I'm using quite a lot of SNMP items, some of which are using named OID's. Is there a support ticket for the issue mentioned earlier in this thread about the SNMP items being a possible problem?
          With kind regards,

          Raymond

wrocha, could you please share? If there really is an issue, and there is no ticket we need to get one logged so the devs can figure out what is going on.

Ok, everything seemed fine for a while.

Now I've updated Zabbix to 2.2.3 and my proxy queues are larger than ever.

Since I wanted to use the proxies mostly for scaling out, I just moved all the hosts to the server and my queues vanished.

Anyone else seeing this problem also?

I haven't updated to 2.2.3 yet so I can't confirm the same behavior but it sounds like the same issue but possibly worse.

                    Same problem same resolution

                    Greetings

I had the same problem. I'm using zabbix 2.2 with proxies.
When I begun to use NTP on all of my zabbix servers, the queue started to decrease.

                    Thanks.
