Zabbix cannot read PID

Hello,

I just installed Zabbix on an Ubuntu machine, but I can't seem to launch zabbix-server. everytime I try, I get this error:

zabbix-server.service: PID file /var/run/zabbix/zabbix_server.pid not readable (yet?) after start: No such file or directory

I have tried to check permission and presence of the files, but there seems to be no issue, as far as I can tell.

Does anyone has an idea of what could pose this problem?
Please let me know what further information would be useful.

check your zabbix config files! I've noticed (a long time ago) this was an issue because of a difference in path settings for the PID in the config files.
